On Thursday 11 March the Years 11 and 12 Chemistry students were visited by Associate Professor Amir Karton who leads the theoretical and computational chemistry group at the School of Molecular Sciences, The University of Western Australia. He is originally from Israel and he currently holds an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship.

Amir contacted the School as part of an outreach program within the Israeli/Jewish community in Perth. He was interested in talking to our Chemistry students about chemistry, computational aspects of chemistry and careers in science. The reason he wanted to visit Carmel is because of its excellent reputation in science.

The students really enjoyed his talk and appreciated him taking the time to visit Carmel.
